What if creativity could be learned?
I Write, Speak, and Email about Making Creativity Happen.
Hi, My Name is Allen.
My mission is to help people realize and live up to their potential.
I believe creativity is accessible to all, but most people just don't have the right tools. I wrote a book called The Creative Curve (Penguin Random House, 2018) that shows how the creative process can be learned by anyone. By interviewing everyone from billionaires to neuroscientists, I developed four steps, backed by science, that you can follow to achieve creative success. You can visit the book website to learn more.
I also founded and served as CEO of TrackMaven, a marketing analytics platform that large brands such as GE and the NBA and high growth-startups such as Dollar Shave Club and Mailchimp have used to power data-driven creativity. In October 2018, TrackMaven merged with Skyword, the leading content marketing platform. Today, I am the Chief Strategy Officer for Skyword where I oversee our north star vision and determine whether we should build, buy, or partner to get there.
Most importantly, I was once a very pitiful runner-up on Wheel of Fortune (I should’ve bought more vowels). When I’m not embarrassing myself on syndicated television, I enjoy hanging out with my corgi, Maven, and exploring my current home of Washington, DC.

Now Out: The Creative Curve
From the Preface:
"We’ve all been told a lie about the nature of creativity...My goal in writing The Creative Curve is to reveal the truth about creative success: that there is in fact a science behind what becomes a hit and that today’s neuroscience gives us an unprecedented ability to decode and engineer the necessary moments of 'inspiration' to create mainstream and popular work."
