Hi! My name is Allen.
My mission in life is to make people realize and live up to their potential. This blog is my musings on how you can identify your own creative potential and act on it.
I believe "creativity" is accessible to all, most people just don't have the right tools. In the "Creative Briefs" section, I provide hacks/tips for enhancing your creativity that are supported by science. Under essays, you'll find a variety of articles I've written across the web on leadership, creativity, and startups.
I spend most of my days as CEO of TrackMaven, a marketing analytics platform that large brands and high growth startups use to power data-driven creativity. I contribute an occasional blog for Fast Company, and have also had writing appear in places ranging from The Washington Post to The Next Web.
My first book, The Creative Curve, comes out in June 2018 from Currency, an imprint of Penguin Random House. It is all about how anyone can learn to have moments of creative genius.
Most importantly, I am a serial game show loser. I have been on two game shows in my life, and lost both times (once was Wheel of Fortune, the other a slightly bizarre MTVu show). In addition to losing game shows, I enjoy hanging out with my corgi, Maven, and exploring Washington, DC.
